The Empowered Minds Collaborative — Mental health support for educators & communities

The people who hold up our schools deserve support, too.

We expand access to mental health care, stand behind educators, and help schools stay strong as anchors in the communities that need them most.

Founded by a lifelong educator Powered by community partners

Who we are

Mental health, educator support, and education don’t exist in isolation.

The Empowered Minds Collaborative was created in response to the growing connection between mental health challenges, educator burnout, and educational inequity.

Our approach is holistic and community-centered. We work to expand access to mental health support and education, strengthen educators and public schools, and address the inequities that hold under-resourced communities back — through prevention, direct support, and partnerships built alongside the people we serve.

What we do

Four connected ways we show up for communities.

Mental health education & prevention

Mental Health First Aid trainings and community workshops that help people recognize and respond to mental health needs early.

Access to care

Partnerships and referral pathways that connect families to mental health services and clear routes to support.

Educator support

Wellness initiatives, advocacy, and professional support for the teachers who hold schools and students together.

Community programming

Local programs built around the needs and voices of the people we serve — not handed down, but shaped together.

Our flagship program

Free Mental Health First Aid for teachers.

Thanks to community sponsors, we’re bringing fully-funded Mental Health First Aid certification directly into school districts — at no cost to teachers or schools. Certified instructors. Real skills. Sessions timed to teacher professional-development days.

$0to the teachers and schools we train — every cost is covered by sponsors.

Who we serve

Centered on the people who carry the most.

Our work centers those who too often face systemic barriers to mental health care and educational support — especially in under-resourced communities.

  • Educators carrying classrooms and communities
  • Students whose needs are too often missed
  • Families seeking clear pathways to care
  • Community members building stronger, healthier places

Our vision

Communities where mental health support is accessible and proactive, educators are supported as whole people, schools are strengthened as community anchors, and families have clear pathways to care.
